Eleven-year-old Ama and her mother Grace have created a sheltered world for themselves as they try to build a new life in Glasgow. But as Ama grows more independent and begins to form friendships outside their home, Grace’s fears and painful past begin to surface, forcing her to confront what it means to let her daughter grow up.
